After collapse of France evacuated to Great Britain. Advanced training in England. Combat assigned to 315th Fighter Squadron. Later assigned to 303rd Fighter Squadron. MIA/KIA (June 23rd, 1944) during combat flight over France. His plane probably was shot down or damaged and crashed in English Channel.
