Wartime Rank: Flight Lieutenant Squadron: 452 Victories: 6 Awards: DFM, MC Theaters: Europe Remarks: Became POW on 10-12-42 but escaped and was recaptured, later Lt. Chisholm escaped again and found sanctuary with the Polish underground. Staying with the Poles until the Warsaw uprising, he then travelled to Paris in time for the arrival of Allied forces. He was then flew to England and met with the Prime Minister as he had first hand knowledge of the Katyn massacre. Keith Chisholm had four children and later passed during 1991 and is buried in Canberra's military cemetary. |
